This vs That

I’ve been in my bleh state this past couple of days … and what bothers me the most when I’m bleh is that, involuntarily, I rethink certain aspects of my life, I analyze if I’m doing things right, if I should be trying things differently, if it’s worth it, if I’m ready to face whatever is coming—even possible rejection …

*Should I go for a MFA or BFA in Creative Writing? Or a certificate perhaps? Or just these online courses—continuing education—I’m already taking are enough?

But enough for what, right? Most famous writers didn’t have a single class of creative writing during all their lives … and yet, some others have at least a BFA in English …

*Should I find an agent or try to go Indie since the beginning?

*Should I try to find an agent from here (I’m still in Brazil) or wait till I go back to US? Or, if I should begin with Indie while I’m here, then try to find an agent?

I keep researching and searching …

To me, not considering where I am or my current state of mind, the best would be to find an agent and go with regular publishing … well, unfortunately, that’s not possible at the moment …

I guess I’m already doing the only 2 things I can: writing and waiting …

On the oven

These are the stories I’m working on:

Sands of Hope: it was the first I finished after deciding to try and become a real author. It took me about 30 days to write this 155,000 words novel—for me, a record.  

I love the story, but I think I need to change a few details before sending out to agents.

It’s about a girl who goes back in time to Ancient Egypt and finds out that her presence was expected—kind of.

Dark Pact: this is epic-fantasy. I even drew the map for this created world—Astera.

The stories narrates the death and resurrection of princess Anahi … to bring her back, her father had to sign a pact with the most terrifying dark demon of all and now the demon is also back and spreading terror through the land.

Warriors’ Legend: Martina starts Kung Fu with her brother just to watch the foxy instructor, not suspecting that her fate is tied up with his in mythological battles.

Supreme Pantheon: in a chaotic world, Nadine starts to have visions of things she doesn’t understand. When she meets the guy of her dreams, things start to change … so does the world.

Untitled work: Erin wakes up knowing only her name and her job: an assassin. While waiting for a new assignment, she stumbles upon a murderer’s tail just to find out he was not an ordinary killer—nor were any of the people she killed.

Untitled work: in 1500s, a white witch is summoned to help the king’s daughter, who was dying. Noticing Arianna is different than the witches who were being pursuit on the witch hunts, the king makes an offer to her: became a secret part of his government. Will it work?

Also, I have a few short stories which I might put together to form one anthology book.

Besides fantasy, I have some ideas and outlines for mainstream/romance stories. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to them. Maybe someday. Right now, I’m excited with my supernatural stuff …

I've been playing with the idea of creating a blog for myself, but never got down to it. Now, it's here. Though, I bet that my 'presence' will be very scattered in the beginning ...
